Footsteps of The beatles
A tour to explore the origins of the greatest band in the world and the legacy they’ve left behind in Liverpool.
When I became a tour guide in 2003, never in my dreams would I believe that 12 years later I would graduate with Masters (with merit) in the subject of ‘Popular music in society and the Beatles’ and I am very proud to say I am still the most highly qualified Beatles tour guide in the country! So, its only right that I have created two fun and informative walking tours around the city focusing on the legacy of the Beatles and many of the other major musicians who have graced many of the city’s iconic venues during the past century. The second walk was originally created for students of Liverpool’s Hope University’s MA course but now I want to share it with you guys as it’s a great way to learn about Liverpool’s Music Masterclass.
90 minutes duration | Minimum 2 people per tour
This takes around 90 minutes around the city centre including Albert Dock, Pier Head & Mathew Street and the World-Famous Cavern. Not only Beatles but it includes History, Maritime, Lots of Statues, beautiful architecture and live music and if your feeling naughty… a small beer!
2 hours 30 min | Minimum 2 people per tour
This is situated in and around the Georgian Quarter of the city starting on Hope Street. This has a mixture of Beatles early day, Brian Epstein’s flat, Queen’s early days… or shall I say Ibex. Classical talk from the world-famous Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Then we will make our way down the hill into the city centre via the Bohemian area of Bold Street via Parr Street Studio’s which is a hidden gem of the city and is the heart of the Liverpool music industry and then down to Mathew Street. Same rules as walk 1 Lots of Statues, beautiful architecture and lots of live music.
I can always include a visit to any of fab pubs that we are lucky to have and include as part of the tour. No drinks will be included in the main charge. This will also include at least 15 minutes onto the tour time.
If you are feeling energetic I can combine both walks together which will take around 3 hours. I can quote a price separately for this.
Please note I will always conduct the tours whatever the weather, unless the client requests otherwise. This is subject to cancellation charges.
Please make sure you wear suitable footwear! I kid you not only recently a guest turned up in heels for a two hour walking tour… I high-fived her she did OK!!
